TRAFFIC RULES IN ARGENTINA

It would be unfortunate to receive a fine during your visit to Termas de Río Hondo for the Argentina MotoGP race. Take a look at our tips for enjoying the MotoGP at the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo without incurring any additional expenses.

Driving side

Vehicles drive on the right side of the road.

Seat belts

Seat belts are mandatory for all passengers, both in the front and back seats.

Speed limits

  • Urban areas: 40–60 km/h (25–37 mph)
  • Highways: 100–130 km/h (62–81 mph)
  • Residential zones: Typically 20–30 km/h (12–18 mph)

Alcohol limit

The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.5 g/L for drivers. For commercial drivers and those with less than two years of experience, the limit is 0.0 g/L.

Use of mobile phones

Using a mobile phone while driving is prohibited unless using a hands-free system.

Child Safety

Children under 12 years must use appropriate child restraints and sit in the back seat.

Roundabouts

Vehicles inside the roundabout have the right of way. Always yield to traffic already circulating in the roundabout.

Toll Roads

Many highways in Argentina are toll roads. Payment can be made at toll booths or electronically via a device (Via Verde).

Parking

Park only in designated areas. Unauthorised parking can result in fines or your car being towed.

Local custom

Be aware of local driving customs, which may include more aggressive driving behaviour and less adherence to traffic rules in some areas.
